The “heavenly peaks” of the Tienshan Mountains rise majestically above barren pastures and rugged hills. Thousands of animals live here as well as Kyrgyz semi-nomads who roam among the mountains. It is said that horses render these people wings. Also, they are essential for survival. The songs of the Kyrgyz folk ensemble Ordo Sakhna mirror the rhythm of daily life in this harsh environment.
