WE ARE OPEN NOW!
Sure enough, when the Tegernsee Mountain Film Festival premiered in 2003, it was conceived as a long-term project. However, none of its initiators were dreaming of a 20th anniversary. Each new edition has been defined by the effort to make the mountain film community’s big gathering even better, ever more exciting, more engaging. Lo and behold – 21 years have flown by! The cancellation due to the 2020 Covid-19 pandemic has “extended” the count.
The central point is and remains the competition for the best international mountain film!
Preparations for the 20th edition of our festival have long since begun. We strive to enrich the anniversary programme with extra perks. But to lay the foundation, we kindly invite you to submit your latest mountain film productions to our qualitative film competition.
All filmmakers are invited: Your creations are the heart of our festival – your artistic creativity, your great skills as scriptwriters, filmmakers, producers and protagonists. Do show our visitors the wide range of topics within this genre – including exciting mountain action, landscapes and ecology as well as the cultural diversity in the mountains of our world.
For the festival’s competition, we have assembled a competent international jury. We now invite you to present your films to our enthusiastic audience and to talk about them. Once again, we will do everything we can to create the familiar festival atmosphere at Lake Tegernsee that our guests have been raving about for 20 years.
Festival Date: 18 – 22 October 2023
Submission Deadline: 31 May 2023 (no submission fee!)
